The Bose SoundDock Series 10 is a docking station and speaker system for your iPod iPhone or other Mp3 devices. It’s basically one big speaker with the docking station for the iPod built into it. The dock is also compatible with the iPhone. It also has a basic 3.5 mm auxiliary input, but that’s about it in regards to connectivity. The auxiliary jack is great if you want to connect other devices to the dock other than your iPod, for example a CD-Player or other mp3-Players.

Personally, I use the auxiliary jack to connect my Blu-Ray player to the Sound Dock, which is great to replace the built-in speakers of my TV. In spite of the fact that my TV is a dolby stereo set, the SoundDock gives better stereo separation and deeper sound. When the iPod or the iPhone are connected through the docking station, the mp3 files sound very rich as the dock outputs the sound so well.

The other benefit of course is all your gadgets are being charged, even while you’re playing songs. 

 The speakers are protected by a metal grill on the front. The slim design makes this speaker portable, as it’s surprisingly light. I take it with me when I’m teaching Yoga classes for example, and it’s so easy to just Pop it into my bag. The sound really fills the room beautifully.

The modern design looks good too, so you can use it in any room in the house. This one is the Bose SoundDock Series 10
which is one of Bose’s top of the range docking stations and so it is a bit more expensive than the others, but just check out how good it looks!

Lets take a brief look at some of the Bose SoundDock Series 10 highlights

• Video output lets you watch iPod/iPhone video on your TV while listening on your SoundDock 10 system.

• Auxiliary input allows you to play an MP3 player, CD/DVD player, or TV through the system.

• Remote control handles power, volume, track seek, and iPod playlists from anywhere in the room.

• Docked iPod/iPhone charges, even while playing, as long as the system is plugged in.

Overall sound quality is quite impressive for such small speakers. Even at lower bitrates, the sound is broad and expansive. The bass notes sound great too. This is achieved by Bose’s sound technology called “Waveguide”. This technology allows for rich and lifelike sound in smaller units like the Bose Sound Dock. Normally you would need a much bigger system to get a high quality sound like that.  

 In my opinion it’s clearly the best iPod docking station out there.

The Sound Dock comes with a small remote which is quite nice. It has a uniquely “simplistic” design, which makes it very easy to use, typical for Bose. People who prefer remotes with a lot of different functions might be disappointed, but ease of use is without doubt the priority in this case. The functions are limited  to on/off, volume, forward, backward, play/pause. Whilst it’s not possible to navigate through the iPod menu using the remote, as you can with some of the exceptionally expensive docking stations, but you can use the remote for playlist navigation, which is great.

The Bose Sound Dock Series 10 is typical Bose.

Top quality, sleek design and more importantly powerful responsive sound even in the base range. I’m recommending it. It’s awesome!

The Best Ipod Docking System

Is the Bose SoundDock Series II Digital Music System for iPod (Silver) the best Ipod docking system on the market?

No.

The one at the bottom of the page is…

but I can’t afford that one yet….

If you want to buy a dock for your Ipod or Iphone that’s better than the Sound Dock series 2 you’ll be searching for some time.

Sure it’s one of the most expensive you can buy, but it’s in a completely different league than all of the others.

I can’t think of one actually that even comes close to the sound dock and I’ve been around the block so to speak…

The reason is that with bose they’ve always had a focus on technology that is small.

                                And beautiful…

                                 And Awesome…

I have a V10 myself.

Next week I’m swapping my ancient PDA phone (I’m too embarrassed to tell you which one) and getting a brand spanking new Iphone 4. (with an awesome data package from the 3 network)

The next step for therefore is to buy a sound dock, and I’ll tell you why.

It’s not that the v10 isn’t portable, it is small enough to fit under your arm, but it isn’t made for travelling.

It’s supposed to stay where it is looking georgeous, whereas the Sound Dock designed to go wherever you go and deliver that Bose sound, which in my opinion is just awesome.

This is the one I’ll be buying for myself Bose SoundDock Series II Digital Music System for iPod (Silver)but if you reall want to slurge on the best Docking station for Iphone or Ipod check the one below out with top class features to die for..

It’s way out of my league at the moment in terms of it’s price but just take a look at this…
